Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal with 4+ years of experience, including management or lead‑level responsibility, to support high‑volume charged‑off debt collections litigation in state and local government courts.

This role is ideal for an experienced paralegal who thrives in volume‑driven environments, understands creditor’s rights litigation, and has experience leading workflows, mentoring others, and improving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of charged‑off debt collection cases
  • Oversee high‑volume, multi‑jurisdictional caseloads in state and local courts
  • Prepare, review, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, and related documents
  • Manage service of process, calendaring, hearing preparation, and follow‑ups
  • Coordinate with attorneys, courts, vendors, and local counsel
  • Perform asset searches and support post‑judgment enforcement
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in case‑management systems
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, or oversight to junior paralegals or support staff
  • Identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement and standardization
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in charged‑off debt collections litigation or creditor’s rights
  • Management, lead, supervisory, or portfolio‑ownership experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in state and local government courts
  • Proven ability to manage high‑volume, deadline‑driven litigation
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with e‑filing systems and legal case‑management softwarE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with state and local courts
  • End‑to‑end collections litigation experience (complaint through enforcement)
  • Experience training, mentoring, or supervising staff
  • Process improvement or operational leadership experience
