Estate Planning and Probate Paralegal

The Law Offices of Marc D. Smith, LLC is a boutique estate planning and probate law firm serving families throughout Ohio and Florida. Our clients rely on us during important and often emotional life events. As a result, accuracy, reliability, and professionalism are essential.

We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning and Probate Paralegal who takes pride in producing careful, precise work and who consistently follows established procedures and instructions.

This is an in-office position in Columbus, Ohio.

This role is not a good fit for someone who prefers a loosely structured environment or who struggles with attention to detail. It is ideal for someone who values organization, clear processes, and producing high-quality work.

Core Responsibilities

• Draft estate planning documents from established templates
  • Prepare probate pleadings and court filings
  • Assist with probate and trust administration matters from opening to closing
  • Prepare asset transfer documents and beneficiary forms
  • Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and fiduciaries
  • Track deadlines and maintain accurate matter status updates
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files
  • Carefully review documents for accuracy before submission
  • Follow firm procedures and checklists

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of probate or estate planning paralegal experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong proofreading ability
  • Ability to follow written procedures and instructions precisely
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document formatting
